PRD asks Government to withdraw tax reform

Alianza opositora “está dando en la madre” al PRM, asegura Calderón

The president of the Dominican Revolutionary Party (PRD), Miguel Vargas Maldonado, suggested this morning that the government withdraw the tax reform project submitted to the National Congress and convene the Economic and Social Council to achieve a true fiscal pact that is the result of dialogue, consultation and equity.

He stated that dialogue and agreement in the Social Economic Council would lead to a true fiscal pact “which at that time we all considered important and necessary.”

On his Twitter account, Vargas Maldonado considered that the alleged waste of resources generated by the State, to which more than 42 billion dollars of debt were added during the first four years of the PRM government, precipitated the presentation of a tax reform project that contravenes the mandate of the National Development Strategy.
