On Sunday evening, after the end of the day of the popular consultation, the Minister of People’s Power for Communes and Social Movements, Ángel Prado, said that today was an electoral celebration.
“Today we have seen the face of true democracy, popular socialist democracy,” he said, commenting that the day was characterized by massive participation, in which millions of people mobilized with hope and also with the certainty that these resources will arrive in the next few days to execute the projects that were approved today.”
“It was a day of peace, of popular celebration,” said Prado, commenting that President Nicolás Maduro is making great efforts to protect the country’s economy, “and communities are the priority for executing a good part of that budget.”
“The community cares about the school, wants to improve the electrical service, consolidate the distribution of water and other services, and rehabilitate public recreational spaces,” he said.
He said that they are already thinking about housing projects, as well as productive projects.
“Our youth no longer want to leave, they want to be trained, they want to participate in politics but they also want to develop forms of sustainability in the productive sphere that allow them to cover their needs,” he added.
