Expocruz 2024 has its first prizewinners. Weighing 1,180 kilograms, Pradesh FIV from the El Trebol herd, of the Nelore breed, established itself as the heaviest in the bovine competition organized by the Bolivian Association of Zebu Breeders (Asocebú). At just 28 months old, this animal has a daily gain of 1.35 kilos.
The competition was held this Sunday and was an intense day in which 400 animals, belonging to the Nelore, Nelore Mocho and Brahman breeds, participated and passed through the fair’s scales.
Among the other winners are: Mr. Orion FIV Santa Ana, of the Brahman breed, this is a 28-month-old specimen, weighing 1060 kg. Belonging to the Condominio Zafiro farm, it has a daily gain of 1.2 kilos.
Within the Nelore Mocho Breed the winner was Rolex FIV Moxos, from the Moxos ranch, an impressive 30-month-old specimen that reaches 1175 kgThis animal has a daily gain of 1.25 kg, which reflects its great development and outstanding genetics.
This event, which brings together the best breeders in the country, highlights the advances in genetics and feeding that allow the production of animals of great weight and excellent performance.
Jovita Egüez, technical coordinator of Asocebú, highlighted that these animals are between 28 and 30 months old, which adds even more merit to their achievements. “You are seeing males of 28 and 30 months old, quite young, weighing more than 1,000 kilograms,” she said.
He also highlighted the work of the cabin owners, which has been fundamental in this edition. “It is also important to highlight the work carried out by the ranchers, there is no genetic advancement in this fight.”he noted.
