A few days after completing the 36 months of preventive detention that was imposed on him, former President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski will regain his freedom and will face criminal proceedings against him for the alleged crime of money laundering in the framework of the Westfield Capital case in freedom . This was ordered last Saturday by Judge Jorge Chávez Támariz, of the Seventh National Preparatory Investigation Court.
Judge Chávez Támariz, through a resolution to which La República agreed, ordered to change the measure of coercion from house arrest of PPK to appearance with restrictions, for which it must comply with the following rules of conduct:
- Prohibition of communication with his co-defendants Gloria Jesús Kisic Wagner, José Luis Bernaola Ñufflo and Gerardo Rafael Sepúlveda Quezada
- Biometric control every 30 days
- Prohibition of being absent from Metropolitan Lima; unless there is judicial authorization
- The prohibition of making statements to the press, radio, written or television media about the Westfield Capital case
- Obligation to appear before the judicial and fiscal authority when requested.
“All this, under the express warning that, in case of non-compliance with the restrictions and prior request, the measure will be revoked, returning to the status quo of house arrest,” reads the resolution.
