The Third Criminal Chamber of National Appeals revoked the impediment to leave the country for 30 months that weighed on the former president Peter Paul Kuczynskiinvestigated for irregular contributions to his 2016 campaign.

The chamber ruled that the judge issued the impediment solely because he ordered the appearance with restrictions, for which he did detect justification.
The collegiate, chaired by Ramiro Salinas, agreed that Kuczynski represents an obstacle to the process by being exposed to a nine-year prison sentence.
“Reasonable suspicion is sufficient to prove this procedural danger, especially if a strong probability is not required that the accused is capable of using the means at his disposal to facilitate his escape or concealment from the action of justice,” the ruling indicates. . For this reason, he decided to ratify the appearance, which will be valid throughout the criminal process.
