The tests performed reported a 7% reduction in the fuel and up to 7% in CO2 emissions.
Postobón, along with their Edinsa and Renting Colombia transport operatorpresented the results of a pilot of sustainable mobility based on hydrogen technology, consolidating as one of the few fleets with this initiative of the country.
“Today we take another step in innovation, to remain references in the transition to emission -free mobility. We are optimistic against the advancement of technology and the existing possibilities”Said Jorge Ricardo Gutiérrez Escobar, Vice President of Logistics and Distribution of Postobón.

With one Investment of $ 250 million were adapted ten tractocamions of the Postobón and Edinsa fleet to a new hydrogen cell technology, developed by the companies of the companies.
These cells were loaded with distilled waterOh, by means of an electrolysis process, they separated the hydrogen from oxygen, which allowed to inject hydrogen into the engine, improving fuel consumption efficiency.
The tests, carried out for almost a year, They reported a 7% reduction in fuel use and a decrease of between 6% and 7% in equivalent CO2 emissions. These results indicated a lower dependence on fossil fuels and a significant reduction in the carbon footprint of 91 tons of CO2 per year.
“These vehicles with hydrogen technology are proof that Technological innovation can go hand in hand with the care of the environment and operational efficiency, ”said Mauricio Serna, General Manager of Renting Colombia.
In some areas, Tractocamions achieved savings of up to 9% In fuel consumption, which showed the high potential of this technology to optimize performance in various geographical conditions in Colombia.
