A group of young Cuban creators created a series of allegorical posters to Cuban cinema, compiled in the exhibition that was inaugurated this weekend in the gallery of the Fresa y Chocolate Cultural Center, in Havana.
The Cubacine portal indicates that the creators of the sample are grouped in the La Jeringa group and joined in this project entitled Kinocúlate.
“With a dose of colors in strong contrasts,” the selection illustrates films that were collected for the audience on the Island through the common thread that can form the filmography of an actor (Willem Dafoe, Harvey Keitel…) or a genre ( Horror, musical…), indicates Cubacine.
Under the curatorship of María Victoria Pérez and inaugurated on the occasion of the International Festival of New Latin American Cinema, the exhibition includes projections of Cuban feature films and will be open until the end of December.
The International Festival of New Latin American Cinema will celebrate its 43rd edition from December 1 to 11 and will also have Belgian and Swedish film screenings as a prelude and a tribute as part of the Italian Culture Week.
