On Wednesday, February 5, the University for Development and Innovation, UDI, lived a historical moment with the possession of its new rector, the MGTR. Viviana Paniagua, who assumes this role with the commitment to lead the institution towards a new stage of academic growth and innovation. The official act, which was attended by prominent academic, business and professionals authorities in the country, marked a new milestone for the UDI and its educational community.
In his speech, the MGTR. Viviana Paniagua expressed her deep thanks to the Eastern Business Group (GEO), represented by its president, Víctor Hugo Jiménez, for the confidence deposited in her management. He also highlighted the presence of rectors of sister universities, members of professional schools, representatives of the business sector and media, who witnessed the beginning of a new stage for the UDI.
“Today I assume the position of rector of our beloved university as a new challenge in my professional and personal life, and I do it with great honor, thanks and responsibility,” he said in his speech. With these words, it made clear its commitment to continue strengthening the legacy of the UDI, an institution that since its foundation in 2011 has established itself as a reference in the training of highly trained professionals.
During her speech, the Rector Paniagua took a tour of the history of the university, remembering how the transformative vision of its founder, Víctor Hugo Jiménez, gave rise to an innovative academic project, focused on an educational model by competencies. This approach has allowed the UDI to combine the theory with practice from the first day of class, adapting to the demands of the labor market and guaranteeing the training of competitive professionals.
In these 13 years, the UDI has graduated more than 700 professionals already more than 1,200 postgraduants, consolidating itself as a reference institution in the academic field. Currently, the UDI community has more than 3,800 members who trust its training model and the excellent work environment of its academic unit, which reflects the positive impact of its educational approach on society.
