The students, 5, 8 and 9, presented vomiting, dizziness and headache
An alleged case of mass poisoning was recorded on Tuesday at the Diego Ibarra del Toro basic school, located in Guanare, Portuguese state, where several children presented symptoms such as vomiting, dizziness and headache.
Students between the ages of 5, 8 and 9 were transferred to the ambulatory Noel Barazarte, the closest, where they received medical care and were stabilized, after being diagnosed with emético syndrome and syncope.
A Civil Protection Commission was presented at the campus after the director reported the situation, possibly derived from a strong smell perceived in the early hours of the day, which also caused a hypertension table to a worker in the administrative area.
The officials supervised the school facilities, evaluated the vital signs of students who still manifested symptoms and, according to the Official Gazette, verified that “there was no presence of strong odors or hazardous substances.”
After the tour and in coordination with the educational authorities the retirement of the students was authorized. Civil Protection assured on his Telegram channel that he will monitor the situation “to ensure a safe environment for all students.”
