A total of 39 students and two teachers affected are the result of a new alleged mass poisoning in Portuguesa, this time in the Simón Rodríguez Educational Complex, Santa Rosalía municipality.
The students, aged between 10 and 17 years, had to be transferred along with the teachers, aged 27 and 30, to the El Playón Comprehensive Diagnostic Center (CDI), due to presenting respiratory difficulty, fainting, nausea, hypotension and headache, among other symptoms.
Commissions of Firefighters, Civil Protection and other security forces arrived at the campus, located in the Poblado III sector, to provide support and begin investigations.
It is presumed that the effects derive from the alleged inhalation of an unknown substance, since the symptoms appeared after “a strong odor was perceived in the environment” in the institution, indicates the official report.
All those affected received medical attention and are stable.
