The Chamber of Deputies postponed for 15 days the bill that makes it mandatory to have non-intrusive inspection equipment and technologies (scanners), permanently available in primary customs zones and special surveillance areas that allow effective control of merchandise entering and leaving Paraguayan territory.
Sebastián Villarejo, national deputy for the PPQ, requested the postponement for 15 days since Conacom, the Chamber of Ports and Customs requested some modifications that must be evaluated.
“There are different arguments for the commissions to study and evaluate. This has a fictitious sanction at the end of August, so we are still on time, ”he said.
Fernando Oreggioni, national deputy for the PLRA, supported the postponement so that the Paraguayan Chamber of Terminals and Private Ports can attend a meeting of one of the advisory commissions to present and socialize the modifications that they consider fundamental to the project.
Kattya González, national deputy for the PEN, expressed for her part that the conditions exist to approve the document as it came from the Senate.
“If we can make a decision today,” he said without success.
Rodrigo Blanco, national deputy for the PLRA, also supported the postponement to listen to the Chamber of Private Ports.
