Population turns to Huancayo markets and stalls close for fear of looting (VIDEO)

After the dramatic moments and uncertainty that our country experienced, due to the abrupt decision of former president Pedro Castillo to dissolve Congress and what caused his vacancy in Parliament to be approved, the population of Huancayo turned to the markets fearing an increase in prices due to speculation.

In supermarkets like Makro, we saw long queues of people fighting for a shopping cart and going through the pavilions to take basic necessities wholesale.

In the center of Huancayo, the businesses near the Modelo market and the Wholesale market chose to close their doors for fear of looting, even though they had a lot of merchandise, they preferred to prevent any criminal act.

The Modelo market itself chose to close all its doors and only opened the entrance area for the meat stalls and the main door. Later, the outlook returned to normal, calm returned and many chose to reopen the doors.
