In the first 36 days of execution, the enumerators visited 1,370,493 homes, that is, 92% of those planned, and took a census of 3,231,764 people, which represents 73% of the population; while in the housing census all the provinces have exceeded their coverage, that is, more than 80%.
The comptroller of the Republic, Gerardo Solís, highlighted the work of the enumerators and the people who have collaborated with the Population and Housing Censuses, allowing us to have good coverage in the national territory, thus exceeding the goals established in this first month of hard work. .
Preliminary data obtained from mobile capture devices (DMC) indicate that 93% of the surveyed population has a cell phone, 44% have a computer, 74% have Internet, 87% have a television, 45% have a car and 35% have air conditioners.
So far, 33.2% of the population recognizes itself as Afro-descendant and 12.6% as indigenous population. While 4.5% reported some type of disability.
The INEC of the Comptroller’s Office thanks those households that opened their doors to the 2020 Decade National Censuses, and urges the population not included in the census to call 510-2020 or the available telephone lines in each province to request that a duly identified enumerator visit them. at the most convenient time.
The Population and Housing Censuses culminate on March 4 to then begin with the data recovery phase that will allow us to know how many we are, what we are like, and how we live; and thus obtain the statistical data that allow us to implement tools and public policies in favor of the development of our country.
