
The opposition party popular will (VP) on Tuesday demanded the “immediate liberation” of former deputy Freddy Superlanowho, warned, continues “completely isolated” since his arrest 14 months ago.
“Freddy has been completely isolated: without visits, without trial, without the right to see his family, not even his daughter,” VP wrote in an X message, in which he called the international community to “continue denouncing” the politician’s arrest.
In its publication, the party considered that Superlano is imprisoned “because they could not overcome it on the street or at the polls”, while describing its capture as a “kidnapping.”

The former deputy was arrested on July 30, 2024 by “hooded officials”, as reported by the Vente Venezuela party, headed by the opposition leader María Corina Machado.

Superlano was a deputy of the National Assembly (AN, Parliament) that won the 2015 legislative elections, whose period was extended from 2016 to 2021.
In addition, the opponent was a candidate for the regional elections of 2021 by the Barinas state – according to the late President Hugo Chávez – and triumphed by a narrow margin, a result that was annulled by the Supreme Court of Justice under the argument that the opponent was disabled to participate.
