The Minister of Popular Power for Communes and Social Movements, Ángel Prado, indicated that the Popular Power will choose leaders who have characteristics of moral solvency and principles to obtain the position of communal justice of the peace.
In telephone contact with VTV, Prado highlighted that this Thursday the candidates meet with the inhabitants of their communal circuit to present their reasons for being elected.
He said that more than 15 thousand main judges and 15 thousand substitute judges will be elected on December 15.
“In the communes we already have the Executive Branch, the work committees, but we also have the Electoral and Legislative Branches, now we are going to have the Judicial Branch and that is what the people want and demand.”
Elections in 4,861 communes and indigenous communities
He commented that on Wednesday “we had simultaneous assemblies in almost four thousand communes (…) We are already in an electoral campaign. We are going to elections in 4,861 communes, the rest are the indigenous communities, where they have their own practices, customs and ways of administering justice, and 43,544 communal councils are linked that will participate in this electoral process,” highlighted Minister Prado. .
On Wednesday, the National Electoral Commission began the campaign for the election of communal justices of the peace, which will run until next December 13.
At the same time, the head of the Communes and Social Movements portfolio celebrated that 70% of the nation’s 2025 budget will be allocated to financing the communal State, and next year the powers and responsibilities in the development of the country will be assumed. , especially in the solutions to the accumulated problems, a product of the economic war of the extremists and the North American empire against the people of Venezuela.
