The bench of People’s Force presented this Wednesday, March 2, a motion of censure against the Minister of Health, Hernan Condoriwhose departure – due to lack of suitability for the position – is also required by different medical unions.
In this way, the document achieved the 33 signatures required for its presentation at the table of parts of the Congress, mainly from Avanza País, Renovación Popular and Podemos Peru.
The motion links Condori with “a series of complaints for functional misconduct, alleged acts of corruption, acts against ethics in professional practice, which can lead to attacks against public health”.
Also, it points out the “lack of suitability” from Hernan Condori to exercise “such an important position in a sector that is sensitive to the population due to the health emergency situation in the country and the world”.
In the same way, it recalls the resignation of the High Level Consultative Team (ECAN) of the Minsa for considering that “There are no conditions for an autonomous and consistent exercise of their responsibilities”in addition to the departure of professionals from the highest management for the appointment of “inexperienced personnel, some of them with complaints and ongoing processes for offenses against the public administration”.
“For these reasons, the minister’s resignation has been repeatedly requested, having replied that he will not resign, clinging to a position for which he is not prepared and putting the health of the population at risk in a critical situation due to the health emergency”underlines.
It should be noted that on more than one occasion, Hernan Condori He has ruled out resigning. “Congress will see and they have the power to give us confidence or not, Congress is autonomous. [¿Usted va a renunciar?] I’m not going to give up, well brother “expressed on February 17.
Meanwhile, last Monday night the president of Congress, Maria del Carmen Alva (Popular Action), gave an account of the interpellation motion that the opposition presented against Condoriwhich will be debated at the next plenary session.
