The congressmen of Popular Force, Patricia Juárez, and Fernando Rospigliosi expressed their rejection of the complaint of the Prosecutor of the Nation that seeks to declare the illegality of his party. This Thursday, September 18, the Prosecutor’s Office sent the request to the Judiciary after concluding with the process to declare the illegality of the group.
In that sense, Juarez accused the Prosecutor’s Office to pretend to illegalize by Force Popular based on accusations of alleged attacks against magistrates, the apology of political violence and the legitimation of violence as a method to achieve political objectives. In her defense, the parliamentarian recalled that Fuerza Popular is an organization with more than 30 years of experience that has always acted within the democratic frameworks and that “never” has had “anti -democratic behaviors.”
The legislator described the measure as a “direct attack on democracy” and warned that he feels a serious precedent for the entire Peruvian political system.
The congresswoman also urged other political organizations to pronounce against what she called a “democratic folly” that threatens all the political forces of the country. “Now we are, but it can be any democratic political party in this country,” he said.
Juarez reaffirmed that Popular Force will use all the tools that allow them the democratic and legal system to defend their rights. The legislator concluded that the complaint is an attack on the very essence of political life in the country and that her party – who described as “the most important in Peru” – will not be silenced.
Rospigliosi spoke
For his part, Congressman Fernando Rospigliosi criticized the Prosecutor’s Office, accusing her of following a “pro-of-terrorist” policy.
In his statements, Rospigliosi denounced that the prosecutors of “human rights and interculturality” only focus on persecuting military and police for actions that occurred in the eighties. He also noted that the Prosecutor’s Office created a special team to chase the uniformed who acted during the protests of the late 2022 and early 2023.
The congressman also said that the Prosecutor’s Office favors the release of “ranked criminals” while chasing the police who face them. As an example, he mentioned the case of a prosecutor who was sanctioned by prevaricate after denouncing fourteen police, in a trial that was subsequently annulled.
Rospigliosi concluded that the complaint of the prosecutor Delia Espinoza against Fuerza Popular is a “new outrage.” According to him, the party is attacked by being the group that “with more decision, energy and firmness defends the Armed Forces and the National Police to face terrorism and crime.”
The congressman described the prosecutor Delia Espinoza as a “deranged” person and demanded that he be removed from his position immediately.
Keiko spoke
Keiko Fujimori immediately reacted to the request for cancellation of registration of his party, Popular Force, by the Prosecutor of the Nation, Delia Espinoza.
The Fujimorist heiress retweeted the publication of Peru21 with an extensive message, where he denounces that “they investigated us 10 years and found nothing.”
And not only that, but the leader loaded against the prosecutor of the nation, Delia Espinoza, whom she pointed out for “processed by the National Board of Justice (JNJ).”
Finally, the three -time candidate said that he is confident that this “antidemocratic” request will not prosper for months of the elections, calling the prosecutor’s office of “politicized.”
