While the International Transport Expo was taking place in the country’s capital, workers from this union held a strike on the morning of Monday, December 12, demanding improvements to Las Palomas avenue, in front of the Cumaná passenger terminal.

Lenin Vizcaíno, a member of the Arco Iris line, told Radio Fe y Alegría News that “going through the front of the terminal is a true odyssey. This does not meet the conditions for us to provide the service in this area; these craters damage the front end, transmission, tires and the repairs exceed 150 dollars”.

The director of Transportation of the Cumaná mayor’s office, Sergio Martínez, appeared at the site, who spoke with the protesters in favor of resolving the situation in the coming days.
The inhabitants of the sector supported this transport strike in Cumaná because if they do not improve the roads. Dairis Grau, one of the residents of the terminal, said that they are the most affected because they may lose public transportation in the area.
