More than 130 dogs of the Lulu da Pomeranian breed (German Spitz) were rescued in a situation of abuse in the municipality of Limeira, in the interior of São Paulo. The animals were trapped in a house in a gated community. The rescue operation was carried out yesterday (13) by the Environmental Squad and Kennel of the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) of Limeira and by the Civil Police of São Paulo.
“When they arrived at the house, the police teams found the presence of several dogs in a situation of abandonment and without food. Many were even smeared with feces and clustered in several rooms of the residence. Also according to the agents, many dogs were sheltered in fences of two square meters on the outside of the house. They also found puppies, newborns”, highlighted, in a statement, the city hall of Limeira.
According to the municipal administration, the Municipal Health Surveillance seized several vaccines, for veterinary use, with an expired date and irregularly stored in a refrigerator with other foods, many of them rotten.
Police also seized R$30,000 from the house. The owner of the place and his wife were arrested as they arrived at the condominium. They were booked in flagrante delicto for environmental crimes, specifically animal abuse.
