“There is the famous fifth game, where they talk about whether Mexico can or not, and there are controversies about the selection, but I think that all of us as Mexicans are going to be united watching the games, supporting the family,” anticipates the soccer family deputy, hence his middle name, Aghmed, after the goalscorer for the Iraqi team – as his brother is called – during the 1986 World Cup, the year he was born.
“I had to be on that side as an athlete, people are watching on television, hoping you win, and sometimes you can and sometimes you can’t, but athletes go with the commitment to give everything and win, so the national team I wish the best of success,” he said.
Also a gold medalist, the excavator and deputy María José Alcalá predicts success for the Mexican team. “We must support them 100%, feel proud, respect them, take care of them,” she said of the national team.
“My expectations will always be high towards the athletes of the Mexican national team,” he said. “We will not stop suffering in any game because all the athletes suffer, but I believe and have faith that they will fight and they will pass the fifth game, I am sure,” she added.
The vice coordinator of the Labor Party, Reginaldo Sandoval, is another of the legislators who trusts in the Mexican victory. He assured that he will follow all the games that the national representatives play.
“I have my heart and my hope that now Mexico will be able to advance to the final and win the cup, that is always the dream. We haven’t had that, the furthest we’ve gotten is the quarterfinals, but we can make it to the final,” she said.
“I hope that the spirit of the Mexicans, the strategy, the design will bear fruit this time, although we are in a somewhat difficult group, but let’s hope that this Mexico-Argentina event happens, we win and move forward,” he added.
