Political propaganda remains on the streets

Even though the elections municipal were 10 months ago and the presidential and congressional elections were seven, the signs and posters in poles of the power lines of streets and avenues of the Greater Santo Domingo.

The Law 2023 of the Electoral Regime establishes in its article 181: “The matchesgroups or movements politicians and their candidates will be responsible for the removal of the propaganda electoral, for these purposes it will be coordinated with the matchesgroups or movements politicians and the corresponding town councils, the organization of cleaning days”.

In paragraph II of the aforementioned article the legislation indicates: “The Central Electoral Board may retain an amount of the contributions to the matchesgroups or movements politiciansas a guarantee that they will effectively carry out the withdrawal of the propaganda. Paragraph II.- In the event that the matchesgroups or movements politicians do not make effective the withdrawal of the propagandathe Central Electoral Board will cover the costs of its withdrawal with the funds retained from the corresponding political party.”
