Cristian Tinoco, daughter of the political prisoner Victor Hugo Tinoco He denounces that the former foreign minister is in a delicate health situation and needs to be attended by specialists.

In an audio published by the Nicaraguan Center for Human Rights (Cenidh), the daughter of the former Sandinista guerrilla explained that in the assessment made by her father’s doctor they show that Tinoco, who is close to turning 70, suffers from diseases that warrant his being immediately released.

“Among the most relevant diseases are hypertension, heart rhythm disorders, which are often characterized by bradycardia; and something very important that my father presents is leukopenia, which means that the white blood cells (…) are abnormally low, “explained Tinoco.

He added that the member of the Renovating Democratic Union (Unamos) had undergone a bone marrow biopsy to find out if he had any type of cancer or other disease, “but the cause of this decrease in white blood cells could not be found.”

“And even if the cause is not found, this is a risk that my father —Víctor Hugo— has of having any infection, that is, he is subject to a greater risk of becoming infected compared to any individual because his level of defense is lower. The normal white blood cell count is 6,000 to 9,000, but my dad normally has it at 3,000 », he stated.

He emphasized that the doctors who have assisted the hostage of conscience in “El Nuevo Chipote” will be able to realize this situation, reviewing the laboratory tests that have been done on him.

They have not yet received a booster vaccine against COVID-19

Another of the situations that the daughter of the Sandinista dissident referred to is that the authorities of the Directorate of Judicial Assistance requested the vaccination card against COVID-19but the third booster dose has not yet been applied.

“They applied them to the elderly a long time ago, so why did they ask us for the card if they were not going to apply the AstraZeneca booster vaccine?” Questioned Cristian Tinoco.

The family of the kidnapped politician stress that he has aggravating factors that endanger his life. “My father is four months shy of his 70th birthday and his health remains delicate.”

For its part, the Cenidh demanded through its Twitter account the prompt release of Tinoco so that he could receive medical care. “We demand immediate freedom from the Ortega and Murillo regime. #Is innocent #FreedomForPoliticalPrisoners».

The human rights institution insisted that Tinoco’s situation is serious, “what are you waiting for to release him?” They also pointed out that “the Ortega and Murillo regime is promoting all the conditions for his organization to collapse.”

“Is that what you mean? Do you want the retired general Hugo Torres to repeat it?” Cenidh concluded. On February 21, Víctor Hugo Tinoco was sentenced to 13 years in prison for the alleged crime of “undermining national integrity.”

The prisoner of the Ortega regime has been held captive since June 13 in “El Nuevo Chipote” in Managua, along with 34 other opponents, most of whom have already been prosecuted and convicted by the Ortega justice system.
