Relatives of the opposition and political prisoner Brenda Lee Baldelomar, Originally from Chinandega, they denounced that she is in poor health and without receiving medical attention.
The citizen was arrested on April 17, in one of the streets of the Roberto González neighborhood, in the city of western Nicaragua. She was transferred to the Police District Three, in Managua, to later be detained in the Directorate of Judicial Assistance, known as “El Nuevo Chipote.”

After more than a month in detention, Hants Ismael Baldelomarson of the opposition member, told Article 66 that it was the same police agents who informed a family member from Baldelomar that the political prisoner had problems with pneumonia and earaches, for which they requested antibiotics to improve her health.
“They also said that my mother does not have sheets or a mattress, which I do not understand, because we had brought her all those things,” added the son of the opposition member.
On the other hand, Hants said that his mother is being mistreated by a police officer. “A policewoman hit her with her bullshit (club) that they walk,” she denounced.
Baldelomar’s relatives stated that they are concerned because they fear that his health condition will worsen. «So far no trial has been held against my mother, they do not allow us to visit her; They only receive our food and parcels on Fridays,” said Hants Baldelomar.
Days after the arrest, the court at the service of the Daniel Ortega regime filed an accusation against the Chinandegana. According to the information published in the Nicarao System, the case, with number 007008-0RM4-2023-PN, has been filed since April 24, in the Fourth Criminal Court of Managua, in charge of Judge Ana Maria Vado Miranda.

As has happened with other political cases, the alleged crime of which Baldelomar is accused is not detailed, it only states that the victim is “Nicaraguan society and the State of the Republic of Nicaragua.”
In the first 15 days of this month, the Ortega Police kidnapped more than 70 citizens whom they accused of conspiring against the homeland but later released them, forcing them to appear periodically to sign in at the different police stations in the country.
He also continues with his religious persecution, kidnapping several priests, including the Father Jaime Montesinos, parish priest of the San Juan Pablo Segundo church, in Villa Chagüitillo, in the municipality of Sébaco, Diocese of Matagalpa, whom he accuses of “undermining”.
