MIAMI, United States. — The Cuban political police summoned this Wednesday the journalist from CubaNet Anay Remón García (Ana León), who must appear tomorrow at two in the afternoon at the Zanja station, municipality of Centro Habana.
The summons, issued by the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), indicates that the journalist must go to the unit to “be interviewed.” It also warns that she could be fined up to 500 pesos in national currency if she does not show up at the station on the date and time indicated.
Anay Remón García is one of the journalists from CubaNet harassed by the Cuban political police. In addition to having been summoned and questioned on several occasions for her work in the independent press, the young woman has also been prohibited from leaving the country since 2018.
On March 24, the reporter denounced the harassment of the political police towards her mother, in what she considered an attempt to dissuade her from carrying out her journalistic work.
