Part of the movement says that it was stirred to vote organically and support Guadalupe Llori. The ‘rebels’ insist on supervising the head of the Assembly.
Assembly members who do not adhere to the general vision of Pachakutik they could be separated from the movement. That was one of the resolutions that the Political Council of the political group took on March 7, 2022.
In an interview with Radio Vision, this morning (March 8, 2022), Assemblyman Rafael Lucero confirmed that another of the resolutions defined yesterday was to support the work of the President of the Assembly, Guadalupe Llori. He also indicated that they will vote as a block, keeping the 25 votes together to safeguard the political line of Pachakutik.
This calls into question what will be the next actions of the self-styled ‘rebel’ wing, which weeks ago has been requesting the evaluation of I cried and his possible dismissal. For this, it would be necessary to form a multiparty commission that judges the highest dignity of the Legislative.
Marlon Santi, coordinator of the block, assured this Tuesday that they maintain the objective of voting organically and that “if someone wants to interfere in that way, we will apply the Code of Democracy and our organic regime.” This could lead to separation from the political movement.
However, assembly members like Mireya Pazmiño insist that the work of the President of the National Assembly be evaluated. She said that yesterday (Monday) she had to leave the Political Council before defining the resolutions, but that she “did not speak, at any time, of conspiracy; but not supportive either Guadalupe Llori”.
For his part, Assemblyman Mario Ruiz, another of the protagonists of the ‘rebels’ group, said that they were the ones who requested unity, but within the framework of the political project of Pachakutik and the Conaie. (GVL)
