Political actors from the opposition and the government have spoken out about the message that issued the president of the State Luis Arceon the night of this Thursday the 25th.
Through a recorded video, the president addressed the population regarding issues such as the crisis, diesel and loans pending approval in the Plurinational Legislative Assembly.
In this regard, the former president Eduardo Rodriguez Veltzethrough his social networks stated: “President Luis Arce, instead of recorded messages, call for a plural political dialogue “to: make the country’s economic situation transparent and agree on consensus solutions to address the crises affecting the Bolivian people.”
For its part, Gabriel Espinoza, Former president of the Central Bank of Bolivia, commented: “President Arce is returning to the tone of denial regarding the multidimensional crisis that Bolivia is experiencing, but that is not the most relevant part of the presidential message. The most relevant part is that the message has revolved around one demand: approve credits and, very specifically, approve the 100 million dollars of free availability.”
The economics expert believes that, “to put things into context, 100 million dollars do not cover even two weeks of fuel imports. If we think about the signal, this message could indicate a greater weakness than we imagined.”
On your sideLuciana Campero, Deputy for the Citizen Community, stated that, “eIn February 2021, Luis Arce approved a law to repay a $327.7 million loan from the IMF, which would be used to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic. Boasting of being an economist and a communist, he not only repaid the principal amount, but also paid $24 million in interest.
But the post does not end there, it continues stating: “A“Now, Arce is begging for the approval of a 15 billion yen loan (one third of the rejected loan), equivalent to 100 million dollars, for a crisis that has already been handled. I will not support this new loan or a chain of loans that will not resolve the current crisis. It is time to look for more effective solutions.”
Jose Manuel Ormacheaa deputy for Comunidad Ciudadana, also posted on his social networks indicating: “Did you hear that today Tilín gave a message to the country? Have you not heard? Don’t worry, no one has heard, because no one is interested.”
For his part, the governor of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho, published through his social networks:
“In his message, Luis Arce acknowledges that there is a crisis, but says that it is imported; he blames others and not his disastrous management. Desperate, he asks the ALP to approve a billion dollars in new loans.”
Camacho’s post continues: “It is not with more credits, it is not with more debt. Understand it once and for all, the socialist model, the corruption and waste that you imposed together with Evo Morales, that is what caused the crisis.”
Camacho closes with a proposal: “To get out of this crisis, close the dozens of loss-making companies, cut the jobs of your fellow MAS members, Stop destroying the agricultural production sector with encroachments, Stop spending millions of bolivianos on false and useless advertising and stop the corruption in your environment. And finally, understand that your cycle is overthe majority of Bolivians reject his administration. Bolivia needs a change.”
