Political accusations overshadow the appearance of Rojo de la Vega

Political accusations overshadow the appearance of Rojo de la Vega

A quick appearance

Rojo de la Vega’s appearance began with his proposal for a part of the property tax collected by the central government to return to the mayor’s offices and be allocated to public works and urban services.

After justifying his request for a global increase of 85% to the 2026 budget, the questions began. The first clash occurred with the Morenista Valentina Batres, president of the Budget Commission, who asked him to adhere to the protocols of Congress.

Deputies related to Morena criticized its lighting programs, support for women and potholes.

During Rojo de la Vega’s intervention, deputies from the Morenoist bloc and parties such as the PVEM and PT took out posters with legends such as: “The Black Block charges in Cuauhtémoc”, with which they accused the mayor of financing and supporting the group of young people who caused disturbances during the Generation Z demonstration on November 15.

In response, deputies from the National Action Party also took out posters with legends such as “Morena = Narco Government” and “Morena = Huachicol Fiscal.”

“Morena has become everything she swore to destroy. Do you know that they don’t want to talk about Adán Augusto (López Hérnandez) and the Barredora cartel, about the fiscal huachicol, about the biggest fraud our country has had, she doesn’t want people to talk about violence,” Rojo de la Vega said into the microphone.

Representative Janeth Guerrero, of the Labor Party, questioned the mayor’s decision regarding the removal of the statues of Ernesto “Che” Guevara and Fidel Castro from a park in the Tabacalera neighborhood.

In response to this question, Rojo de la Vega said that these statues are of “murderers and repressors”, and are kept in facilities in the district and it will be the inhabitants of Cuauhtémoc who will decide their fate. He even raised the idea of them becoming a monument to the mayor of Uruapan, Carlos Manzo, murdered on November 1.

“I would love to see a sculpture by Carlos Manzo, but we can’t do it alone,” he said.

The Green Party legislator, Liliana Sánchez, described her initiative to return the property to the demarcations as an idea by the mayor.

“It is the same script that they have used for years to install the idea that there is punishment from the central government. Remember, mayor, Mexico City was not built with occurrences,” he stated.

Given the disagreement between legislators and the mayor over political issues, the Citizen Movement deputy, Royfid Torres, suggested that all participants in the appearance adhere to the accountability exercise for the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office.

“Let’s respect what we come to do, to seriously analyze the budgets,” he said.

The Green Party deputy, Yolanda García, distanced herself from the demonstrations of all the parties allied to Morena and assured that her participation would be in accordance with the call, an action that was recognized by the leader of the PAN party, Andrés Atayde.

“I came prepared for a work table, thinking that we were going to debate, to propose solutions for the year 2026 and that is why I did not make any demonstration,” she said.

And the budget?

Alessandra Rojo de la Vega asked legislators for a substantial increase in resources for fiscal year 2026. The proposal proposes increases of:

– 20% in chapter 1,000, related to salaries and payroll.

– 105% in chapter 2,000, allocated to materials and supplies.

– 106% in chapter 3,000, corresponding to general services.

– 161% in chapter 4,000, focused on social programs.

In terms of patching and urban services, he requested that the budget go from six million to 124 million pesos. He pointed out that the central government has not allocated sufficient resources to meet the needs of the inhabitants of the district.
