Thanks to the investigative work carried out by the Attorney General’s Office, four policemen were captured, who presumably would be part of a gang dedicated to drug trafficking.

The catches took place in the departments of Norte de Santander, Atlántico (Barranquilla) and Cundinamarca.
According to the evidence collected by the investigators, the 4 policemen allowed the concealment of cocaine that came from the port of Santa Marta; the destination of the drug would be countries in Central America and Europe.
One of the captured officers was a canine handler who allegedly altered his dog’s training so that it would not alert him to the presence of the drug in the containers.

The four captured officers were charged with the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying aggravated narcotics.
They did not accept the charges, but the guarantee control judge sent them to jail anyway.
In addition to the capture of the four soldiers, there was the seizure of at least nine tons of cocaine hydrochloride; also approximately 640 thousand dollars and more than 250 million pesos.
