Security organizations were deployed in the surroundings of the Aragua Penitentiary Center, located in Tocorón, in search of the perpetrators of the murder of Professor Carlos Lanz.
According to the information obtained from police forces, the deployment is carried out by agents attached to the Directorate against Organized Crime of the Bolivarian National Police, among others.
The participation of the “pran de Tocorón” in the kidnapping and subsequent murder of Carlos Lanz has been mentioned in the last two press conferences offered by the attorney general, Tarek William Saab.
Last Wednesday, July 6, Saab reported that the “pran de Tocorón” had received 5 thousand dollars as payment for executing the crime against Lanz for which he had to provide two assassins. That day the Prosecutor reported that two of the participants in the murder are identified as José Pinto (Bombero Osa) and alias Pedro Basketball, the latter still to be captured.
And on Monday, July 11, the head of the Public Ministry appeared again before the media to ensure that the Tren de Aragua was the criminal organization that participated in the materialization of the murder of Carlos Lanz, which occurred on August 8, 2020 in the La Fortaleza farm located in El Baúl, Cojedes.
Saab said that Glenn Castellano, the person who prepared the logistics for this crime, is a member of the Aragua Train. Castellano, in turn, was commissioned by Mayi Cumare, Lanz’s wife, to “disappear” the Chavista leader, according to the statement recorded by that person.
The Prosecutor also stated that two subjects were arrested, members of that criminal group, who would be presented before the 4th Special Court of Control against Terrorism. Saab stressed that the police investigations are concentrated in Aragua “because the pran and the assassins live there.”
