Federal, civil and military highway police officers from Minas Gerais are searching for the driver of the trailer that was involved in an accident that killed 38 people in Teófilo Otoni (MG). According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), he fled the scene after the accident, but the company’s lawyers informed that he will present himself to the authorities.
The accident occurred in the early hours of Saturday (21) on BR-116. According to preliminary information from the PRF, a granite that was being carried by the trailer broke off and hit a tourist bus, causing a fire in the bus. A car then collided with the trailer.
At least 38 people died and nine were injured, three of whom were in the car.
