Police rescued 20 women from human trafficking and pimping network in Bávaro-Punta Cana

Policía identifica y persigue a dos sospechosos por robo en La Romana

In a decisive blow against human trafficking and pimping, agents from the Human Trafficking and Trafficking Investigation Department, together with the Special Division for the Investigation of Transnational Crimes (DEIDET), carried out an operation that resulted in the rescue of 20 women of different nationalities, including minors, and the arrest of five people in the province of La Altagracia.

The intervention also had the support of the Department Investigations of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office against Illicit Trafficking of Migrants and Human Trafficking (PETT).

The operation, carried out in Bávaro-Tip Cana was the result of an exhaustive investigation that began in 2023 after receiving information about a criminal network dedicated to sexual exploitation in an abandoned house known as “La Mansión”.

This network, led by Domingo Lorenzo Santana (alias “Wellington”), 44, operated a bar where victims were sexually exploited. The other detainees were Reyna Julissa Solano Monción, 27; Marinelys Familia Ogando, 45; Berlín Erisme (alias “Obama”), 30, and Richard de la Cruz Camacho (alias “El Pa” or “Paz”), 46.

The investigation revealed that the network recruited women and minors from different provinces of the country, including the National District, Santiago de los Caballeros, Puerto Plata, and La Romana, and then transported them to Bávaro-Punta Cana, where they were housed and displayed in glass containers for sexual exploitation.

During the operation, authorities arrested members of the network and rescued the victims, who are receiving assistance and protection.

The National Police reaffirms its commitment to the fight against human trafficking and other crimes, ensuring that all those involved will be brought to justice.

In addition, citizens are called upon to continue collaborating and reporting suspicious activities that threaten people’s safety and dignity.
