A movie theft. A dozen criminals, dressed in overalls and pretending to be company workers, eight late model vans were stolen in the first days of January. The vehicles were on board a cargo trailer parked at a pump in the municipality of Shinahota, in the department of Cochabamba.
The motorized were recovered by Diprove agents and the Cochabamba Tropic Police in less than 48 hours. Once plan z was activated, they intensified patrols in the area until they found the whereabouts of the cars.
As a result of this rapid mobilization, the police operation, under the command of the commander, Colonel Erick Holguín, They managed to arrest three people who would have alleged participation in this unusual robbery.
According to the police report, the truck belonging to an international transport company, left with the eight motorized from the city of Iquique, Chile, passing through Oruro and Cochabamba. A breakdown forced him to stop in Chapare and delay his arrival at Santa Cruz Customs, his final destination.
The report indicates that on January 4, the driver of the trailer decided to park his motorized vehicle next to the flatbed, where the latest model trucks were, at the “Trujillo Orellana” pump in the community of Lauca Ñ. Apparently, the truck was not protected with any security measure, due to the long lines of vehicles that were registered due to the blockades to enter Santa Cruz.
Four days later, some of his colleagues alerted the driver by phone call that they saw his empty trailer, without the trucks 0 kilometers he was transporting. At that moment, the driver informed his boss who came to the place to verify and file a complaint with the Police.
The pump’s surveillance cameras captured the precise moment when a dozen unknown people, dressed in overalls from a Cochabamba company, They arrived at the place and began to withdraw the trucks 0 kilometers away.
With these clues, Diprove agents mobilized and found the first six trucks who were in the vicinity of the pump, hidden in the undergrowth. This Thursday, January 12, they found the two missing shots.
The commander of the Police in Cochabamba, Colonel Erick Holguín, highlighted the police work in recovering the mobilities and assured that the investigations will continue until they find this criminal organization that had detailed the assault.
