Police officials will also record their procedures where the inspection of vehicles, checks of people, drug seizures and raids, among others, are involved.
The issue was exposed last Tuesday at a meeting with directors of the state and municipal police forces held at the National Experimental Security University (Unes). There, the deputy minister of the Integrated Police System (Visipol), Elio Estrada Paredes, spoke of the need “to film our procedures.”
Estrada Paredes called to take on the subject of recordings with professionalism. This, by virtue of the joint resolution that opens the doors to citizens to record the police procedures that are carried out in the sales tax.
“What is the problem?” asked the Minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Remigio Ceballos, when touching on the point in that meeting with directors of the country’s police forces. “There is no problem with that,” replied the Minister, who announced that this resolution can be reviewed. “What is that for?; to reduce bad police practices, the idea is to protect the people, ”he commented.
Ceballos recalled that one of the strengths of the new Venezuelan police model is social comptrollership.
The mega-bands
Deputy Minister Estrada Paredes stressed that the uniformed men “should not walk with the criminal gangs.” This, due to the growth of some criminal organizations, whose origin is associated with the support they receive from police chiefs.
At the Unes meeting, Paredes Estrada also informed that the Visipol will proceed to carry out an evaluation of the casualties requested by police officials, as well as the sanctions imposed on the uniformed from the disciplinary councils.
The Vice Minister, who in turn serves as director of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB), told the attending officials that “the great policy of the State is the Quadrants of Peace.”
In this sense, he announced that they will undertake an evaluation of the Quadrants and the participation of the PNB in them.
