A police officer was seriously injured after being the target of multiple bullet wounds during a robbery that occurred in the vicinity of the neighborhood rail tip.
The violent act occurred in the first days of this Monday in the streets War and Warsaw Road. Around 5:00 a.m., the 9-1-1 Emergency Service received an alert about an injured officer lying on the floor at the intersection of the indicated streets.
Several police mobiles moved to the site and there they found the police officer wounded by up to four firearm impacts.
The 45-year-old woman was wearing her police uniform and those who injured her took away her service weapon. Due to this, after being transferred to the Police Hospital, medical personnel treated her and she is now admitted to the ICU with a serious health condition. The woman has two bullet wounds at the height of each of her shoulders, in addition to one in her face (eye and jaw) and another in her skull.
Members of the Investigations area of Zone III of the Montevideo Police Headquarters are investigating the conditions in which the attack against the agent occurred and are also seeking to establish who the perpetrators were.
