Police lock CRE workers in their cells for cutting off their electricity

Police officers from the town of Santa Rita, on the old highway to Cochabamba, two officials from the Rural Electrification Cooperative were locked up for three hours (CRE). The operators got their equipment ready to cut off the electricity supply to the police facility when the annoyed uniformed officers proceeded to lock it up.

They had to remain in the police cells for three hours. Meanwhile, residents of the community reprimanded the police for their abusive actions.

The reason that caused the interruption of the service is due to the six months late in paying bills.

According to eyewitnesses, the officials arrived at the police station on Monday afternoon. They put up their ladder and cut off the electricity because there was a long unpaid debt.

Faced with this situation, according to the testimony of the residents themselves,The uniformed men instead of apologizing proceeded to lock them up in the cells. To regain your freedom, CRE workers They had to reconnect the electricity.

The regulations contemplate a delay of up to three months before the supply is cut off. Neighbors of Santa Rita recognize that there are times when people ask them to please and apologize and in this way the staff listens and considers.

However, in this case, the police station already owes more than six months.
