Santo Domingo.– Elvin Lugo Pérez, “El Boti”indicated by the National Police as one of those responsible for the murder of Sergeant Major Eddy Calcaño Castillo, He was shot dead early this Monday in an alleged exchange of shots with police officers in the La Javilla neighborhood, in Baní.
“El Boti” He was identified as the driver of the motorcycle used to escape after the crime that occurred on Saturday afternoon at a lottery bank, located in the Brisa del Canal sector, Baní municipality.

The murder occurred on Saturday, December 14, when the sergeant major Eddy Calcaño Castillo, 35 years old, assigned to the South Central Investigation Subdirectorate (Dicrim)tried to thwart an assault on the lottery bank.

According to the preliminary report, two men arrived at the scene aboard a black motorcycle. Henry Félix, one of those involved, entered the establishment armed and demanded money from the employee, while Elvin Lugo Pérez, “El Boti”, was waiting in the engine.
Upon noticing the presence of the sergeant majorHenry Felix He opened fire on the agent, causing multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite trying to repel the attack with his service weapon, Calcaño Castillo was fatally hit. According to witnesses, the attacker continued shooting him until he died.
