Personnel from the Organized Crime Investigation Division of the National Police, in coordination with the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office against Organized Crime, raided the home of a police officer from the Anti-Drug Unit of the Criminal Investigation Division (Divincri) Piura for the alleged promotion or favoring of illicit drug trafficking – illicit drug consumption. The home of a lawyer was also raided.
In the afternoon of yesterday, Saturday, agents from the Investigation Division against Organized Crime of Piura, together with the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office against Organized Crime, raided the home of PNP non-commissioned officer Jairo Pingo Arellano, located on Arellano Allende Street in the San Martín human settlement, in the district of Veintisirse de Octubre, where the agent was not found.

According to preliminary information, the investigation began after the arrest of a woman who was arrested days ago in Chulucanas for the alleged crime of illicit drug trafficking, where YCM involves the cash with receiving money in exchange for providing confidential information on police operations against illicit drug trafficking scheduled in the area.
During the raid, the police planned to seize documents, technological equipment, among others that would help with the investigation being carried out against the police officer.
It should be noted that, simultaneously, the police were also present at the home of the lawyer of the detained woman YCM, Dr. Anthony ACG, where it was raided. The property was located in Tower I of the Garden 360 condominium in the city of Piura. The intervening agents also did not find the lawyer at the scene. The doctor also had an arrest warrant. Apparently, only documents that would help in the investigation were seized.
Finally, the investigations continue and they are looking for both involved to respond to this accusation against the police officer.
