More than 100 national and foreign tourists were transferred from the district of Ollantaytambo (Urubamba) to the city of Cusco with the support of the Police, the National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State, the Ollantaytambo Police Station and the Association of Official Network Operators Inca Trail Cusco.
It should be noted that the visitors were stranded in the Machu Picchu district due to the political crisis that originated the blockade of roads and other measures of struggle by various sectors of the population.
In this way, the Regional Government of Cusco managed to manage the transfer of tourists in two buses and two minibuses to the Imperial City through a joint task that allows providing Assistance to national and foreign visitors.
The manager (e) of the Gercetur, Richard Atausunchi, maintained that he makes the necessary coordination with the competent entities to assume measures that allow the prompt return of visitors to their places of origin.
Similarly, it reported that the restoration of the perimeter fence of the Alejandro Velasco international airport that suffered different breaks caused by a group of vandals who tried to take over the Cusco air terminal. Said work was carried out in coordination with the Peruvian Corporation of Airports and Commercial Aviation to restore commercial flights.
The official called for joint efforts to grant the facilities for better care for tourists affected by the crisis that crosses the country. He also urged calm and the eradication of any type of violence.
