Police die after crash in La Guaira

A man accused of beheading his sister was arrested

José Luis Bustamante, 26, died this Sunday after being involved in an accident that occurred around 10 am on the Naiguatá National Highway, near the beach resort of Playa Los Ángeles, in the state of La Guaira, according to police sources. .

The victim, who was an officer of the Regional Police of the coastal entity, was traveling on a motorcycle along the road towards La Guaira, when he collided with a white Hyundai vehicle driven by Astrid De Nóbrega, 20 years old, who resides in Caracas.

The events occurred when, apparently, the driver of the car, who was coming from La Guaira, made a turn to enter the spa, an action that surprised the police officer, who was unable to avoid crashing into the vehicle and losing his life.

The driver of the Hyundai and its occupants were arrested and placed in the custody of the Bolivarian National Police and then presented to the Prosecutor’s Office.
