A total of 1,095 firearms and 55,768 ammunition of various calibers, corresponding to various operational actions carried out by the security forces and the “Pacifying My Neighborhood” program, are destroyed this Thursday, January 26, at the Ancón National Police headquarters. .
Among these weapons are 1,095 revolvers, 52 pistols, 7 shotguns, 1 rifles and 1 submachine gun. In addition to 55,768 ammunition collected through the Pacifying My Neighborhood Program in Panama, Colón and Veraguas.
During the destruction ceremony, the Directors of the OAS Small Arms and Light Weapons Comprehensive Action Program (PACAM) delivered to the Republic of Panama, the 6th. Certification for good practices in Weapons Destruction.
These weapons are destroyed at the Weapons Destruction Center, in compliance with the security protocols established by the Organization of American States.
