Police arrested accused of murdering his ex-partner

Police arrested accused of murdering his ex-partner

Police officer Richard Mendoza was arrested last Sunday near San Cristóbal (Táchira) when he was preparing to flee to Colombia due to his alleged participation in the murder of his ex-partner.

Preliminary reports indicate that Mendoza was approached by a Cicpc commission, which proceeded to arrest him. They seized his service weapon with which he allegedly murdered his ex-partner, identified as Dennais Adriana Pineda (35), sources said.

Pineda’s murder occurred last Saturday inside his home, located on Fe en Dios street, Carorita Abajo, Iribarren municipality (Barquisimeto, Lara). The woman was shot twice and died at the scene. Apparently, the uniformed man did not accept the end of the relationship. Dennais left three children.

Another feminicide

In another incident, last Sunday the body of a 28-year-old woman, identified as Paola del Carmen Pedraza Narváez, was located inside her home in the Campo C sector, Capacho Nuevo (Táchira).

Neighbors reported to the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) that screams could be heard in the woman’s residence. A commission of uniformed officers approached the site and located Paola’s body lying on a bed. The officials questioned Paola’s partner, a 53-year-old man, who admitted to the police that he had killed the woman “because she had many demons.” Because of this, he grabbed her by the neck and suffocated her, the versions say. The subject was detained to further investigate.

human trafficking

In another procedure, Cicpc agents rescued four young people in Puerto Cabello (Carabobo), between 13 and 16 years of age, who were captured through deception and subjected to a human trafficking network, according to investigations.

In relation to that case, Darwin José Raúl Rivas Torres (49) was captured in the General Salom square of the aforementioned Carabobo city. This subject is accused of guarding and holding the victims, while they were subjected to violent attacks and abuse by José David Colina Ibarra (64), Román Antonio Domínguez Linares (63), Tulio Enrique Vargas Villalonga (56), Luiggi Alejandro Romero Álvarez (18) and a 16-year-old boy, previously detained, the report says.

The officials are searching for María de los Ángeles Castillo Velásquez (21), who had recruited the rescued victims and offered them different jobs in exchange for large sums of money. In addition, the aforementioned woman was carrying out various procedures to take the young women to Colombian territory.
