The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro arrested this Friday (25) one of the largest storers of child pornography in Brazil, in Nova Friburgo, mountainous region of Rio de Janeiro. According to the police, he will be responsible for the crimes of rape of a vulnerable person and production and storage of photographs and videos containing scenes of nudity and explicit sex involving children, all in accordance with the Maria da Penha Law.
The criminal’s name was not released. He is accused of sexually abusing his 11-year-old stepdaughter, in addition to storing photos and videos containing child pornography, of the girl and other children.
The arrest was carried out by civil police officers from the Women’s Assistance Police Station (Deam) of Nova Friburgo. The investigations began after a complaint from the victim’s mother, until then the accused’s partner, who found a photo of her daughter on the family’s laptop. During the investigation, more than 400,000 files were found, including photos and videos, of children and teenagers in nude and sex scenes, stored on a pendrive.
A notebook, a cell phone and 54 DVDs were seized, which are yet to be analyzed. According to the police report, given the extensive evidentiary content obtained, the man was ordered into preventive detention.
