The Sectorial Vice President of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, said that the country’s police bodies are “merged” with the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) and the people, which creates a unified block for the defense of the nation.
During the transmission of his program with the deck giving, Cabello said that this integration into the defense of the nation was consolidated from the events of April 2002. He recalled that the police sector represents a significant component in the force of the State.
“There are more than 200 thousand men and women, we must not dismiss it,” said Cabello in reference to the number of active police officers. At the same time, he brought up the coup d’etat suffered by the former president of Ecuador, Rafael Correa, and pointed out that “the police with some military, but basically used police officers.”
When drawing a parallel with the Venezuelan situation, the sector vice president was emphatic in ensuring that this destabilization formula used in Ecuador will not work in the country. “Here the police are merged with the FANB and with the people, they will not be able to warn it!”
