Angel Valdes | February 23, 2023

Units of the National Police detained two people who tried to attack a citizen who was about to board a car at the exit of Terminal 2 at gate 17 of the Tocumen International Airport.
Commissioner Elmer Caballero explained on Radio Panama that the service units at the airport are alerted to the presence of two armed persons on the premises of Terminal 2, upon seeing the police presence they flee and the units begin the pursuit and even using his regulation weapon.
The vehicle is intercepted in the San Antonio area where a person was arrested at the scene recovering two firearms in the vehicle at the same time, while the other individual was arrested when he went to seek medical attention at the Santo Tomas hospital.
Caballero stressed that this event occurs outside the Tocumen Airport and at no time did it affect its operation.
For its part, in a statement, Tocumen Airport reported that “operations remain uninterrupted and safe” referring to the event that occurred outside its facilities.
