Police apprehend Katriel Müller, civic leader of Riberalta

Katriel Müller Justiniano, civic leader of Riberalta (Beni), was apprehended by the Bolivian Police this Tuesday morning, after presenting himself to provide his informative statement before the Prosecutor’s Office.

The representative went to provide his informative statement before the Public Ministry for a process that was opened to him by the events recorded during the multisectoral strike against Law 1386.

He allegedly committed crimes of serious and minor injuries, criminal association, public instigation to commit a crime or hinder the exercise of public function, by committing acts of violence to ensure compliance with the protest.

A video shows the moment when is approached by agents of the Anti-Crime Force, being transferred to the Amazon Command of the institution of order, until its legal situation is defined.

“Long live free and democratic Bolivia! My only crime is to be on the side of my people, I believe in justice”, The civic leader managed to point out, before being put into a police van.

His lawyer indicated that he will be subjected to a hearing of precautionary measures, but considered it “strange” that he was apprehended, because the crimes for which he is accused do not spend three years in prison.
