Police and Prosecutor’s Office investigate the murder of a merchant in Ensanche Quisqueya

Santo Domingo.– The National Police and the Public Ministry have assumed the investigation to identify and arrest the person responsible for the murder of the merchant Delny Luis Silverio Ramírez, 52 years old.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night while he was closing his grocery store, located on Roberto Pastoriza Street in Ensanche Quisqueya, National District.

According to the preliminary report, the incident occurred at 8:50 pm A person, not yet identified, arrived at the scene on a motorcycle with a protective helmet, had a brief conversation with the victim and shot him.

The attack was captured by a nearby video surveillance camera. Currently, several people are being interviewed, and authorities are reviewing recordings from security cameras in the area.

At the crime scene, Scientific Police technicians collected a shell casing and a 9 mm caliber capsule, which will be subjected to ballistic analysis. Additionally, the victim’s cell phone was recovered for analysis.

At the scene, 20,000 pesos and 300 dollars in cash were also found, which remained in the possession of the merchant.

The National Police reaffirms its commitment to clarify this case and bring the person responsible to justice. Likewise, it requests the collaboration of citizens with any information that may be relevant to the investigations.

Police said more details will be provided as the investigation progresses.
