Two police officers were rescued by their colleagues from the Carabobo state police, after learning that they were victims of a brief kidnapping, according to reports.
One of the victims is identified as Julio José Torres Reyes, belonging to the Belén Police Station, Carlos Arvelo municipality, Carabobo, who was stripped of his bulletproof vest, Glock pistol, Fiat Palio private vehicle and cell phone.
The other victim is Eduardo Antonio Velásquez Ávila (38), who was robbed of his private Fiesta Power vehicle and Beretta 90 TWO pistol.
The uniformed men were intercepted last Sunday by an armed group on the Güigüe-Maracay highway, Yuma sector, who placed themselves on motorcycles on both sides of the vehicle.
The subjects were dressed in black, with vests, they carried long weapons and they were hooded. They beat the policemen and left them gagged and tied up in a hilly area located in La Vuelta del Caracol de Yuma, on the main Güigüe highway.
The Public Ministry was notified of the procedure.
