Tadej Pogacar is insatiable. Two weeks after its demonstration at the tour of flandersthe Slovenian returns to competition on Sunday with the ambition of conquering the Amstel Gold Race, for which he starts as an indisputable favorite; and where the Colombians will also run Brandon Rivera (INEOS) and Sergio Higuita (BORA).
“My spring is already a great success but I’m still hungry”warns the runner, who has already raised his arms in victory ten times since the start of the year.

From Michal Kwiatkowski (last winner of the test) to Benoît Cosnefroy, including Tiesj Benoot and Tom Pidcock, the other candidates for victory are warned: although the double winner of the Tour de France announced his participation just a few days ago, he will not attend to play a secondary role.

The Belgian Remco Evenepoel will not run this race eithercalled to be Pogacar’s main rival, but in the end it is not part of his preparation for the Giro d’Italia.
The only Dutch classic on the calendar corresponds to the profile of the Slovenian. Winding, nervous, with 33 often short but dry climbs in the 253 kilometers through the Limburg region of the Netherlands.

“I only did it once and I remember that it is a long and difficult race, with many climbs”, points out the leader of the UAE team. Remembering that four years ago, when he was still far from being the star he is today, he failed to reach the goal.
