The Special Team of the National Police, which collaborates with the Prosecutor’s Office in investigations against corruption in the government of former president Pedro Castillo, today arrested General Pedro Villanueva Nole, who is being investigated for being part of the “police arm” network that claimed US $40,000 to all those officers interested in being promoted in the 2021 process.
Villanueva, who served as chief of the VII Cusco and Apurímac Police Macro Region, must serve 10 days in preliminary detention for the case in which Pedro Castillo, former Police Commander Javier Gallardo, Bruno Pacheco, former Defense Minister Walter Ayla, among others.
