Lieutenant General Jorge Lam was being investigated for a serious offense against the police service (G-38), “failing to fulfill the mission or breaching the assigned functional responsibility, due to negligence, improvidence or lack of initiative.”

The former head of the Seventh Lima Police Region, General PNP (r) Jorge Cayas Medina, who was in charge of executing the Operations Plan to suppress the demonstrations in downtown Lima and was facing three serious charges, was also released from responsibility.
